3. Roller Clearance – Minimum clearance should equal material thickness; clearance outside the pitch circle should be slightly larger

4. Springback Prevention – Use over-bending technique by designing deeper forming sections

5. Surface Protection – All roller surfaces must be smooth with uniform transitions to prevent scratching

6. Roller Material – Carbon tool steel or special tool steel hardened to approximately HRC 60; large rollers may use special cast steel, chrome-plated rollers, or hard bronze rollers
